“The most relaxing way to see America is to take the flavor of Europe along with you.”

 General Foods International Coffees

 Mademoiselle. July 1976.

Before Starbucks, General Foods International Coffees, with their unique flavors like Suisse Mocha and Cafe Vienna was the “sophisticated” flavored coffee. Even though it was instant coffee, it was something out of the ordinary & it was the first coffee I actually drank at home. The line was introduced in the ‘70s, and still exists, but there is far more competition now in the flavored coffee market.
